Keeping yourself warm this winter

Home Improvement

The days are shorter and colder, so it’s a good time to check your home and get it ready to shield you this winter from the wind and rain. Here are a couple of tips to keep your Park Homes for Sale Bedfordshire from Park Home Life, warm this winter:

Boiler servicing and testing

You could be wasting energy and resources if your boiler is not properly maintained. The possibility of a carbon monoxide leak often runs through insufficient maintenance. Before winter, everybody can get their boilers serviced. If not maintained, at the coldest time of the year it could break down and leave you without heating, as well as an awful big bill for repairs or replacement.

Maintaining warm pipes

It is normal for burst pipes to occur during the winter months, as rapid freezing and thawing can potentially lead to cracking and breaking, but it doesn’t have to be an inevitability. Through keeping the pipes warm with insulation called lagging, this can best be avoided, eliminating heat loss and shielding the pipes to avoid freezing.

Bleeding your radiators

If any radiators are cooler at the top but warmer at the bottom, air in the radiator is possibly trapped, which prevents the heat from circulating properly. Bleeding a radiator is smart, because the trapped air is released, so that the radiator will operate more effectively. You might be able to get support from your maintenance team if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.
