Where to go for a Staycation

Uncategorised

The arrival of a global pandemic may have caused a lot of holidays to far flung locations to be cancelled this year – so rather than wallowing in the misery of your lost holiday, maybe later in the summer, a staycation could be the break that you need. Why not explore one of the UK’s picturesque costal towns, vibrant cities or somewhere remote and peaceful? Here are a few places that you could head to if you are hoping to enjoy a summer holiday at home…

Pembrokeshire – Enjoying a costal position on the West Coast of Wales, Pembrokeshire is the perfect beach break for the whole family. The shallow gentle waters and soft sands of Tenby and Saundersfoot are great for families, and if you are taking your canine companions away you will be spoilt for choice with dog walks with stunning views.

Cheltenham – Probably most famous for the Gold Cup week at Prestbury Park there is much more to Cheltenham than horse racing. If it is a city break that you are after (Cheltenham is not technically a city but a town!) you could do a lot worse than Cheltenham! Buzzing with culture from museums to shows there is something everyone will enjoy – followed by fantastic shopping and Michelin star restaurants, and for those still awake after all that head to a nightclub Cheltenham is the perfect city break!

The Peak District – The Derbyshire based Peak District is a dream for those looking for the peace and quiet of the countryside. The tiny villages such as Edale and Bakewell (yes famous for the cake!) nestled in amongst some of the most stunning scenery in the world. Enjoy a long walk and reward yourself with a pint and a hearty meal at one of the cosy local pubs.
